 Like opening his face revealing the eye in the center, surrounded by sharp teeth.

 He is just a black figure...

 A...

 Figure.

 Under the bed, in the closet, in the darkness, in front of your door step, or in the corner.

 No matter where you go, like in the store.
No matter what you do, like make out with your girlfriend.

 He will always be there just to spy on you,

 Or maybe even worse...

The Hunter's Footsteps

It was icy cold, and I was wearing no shoes.  Each footstep fading behind me, I had no idea where I was going or if I would get back.  The whistling of the wind entwined with the howl of wolves had always soothed me. As I hiked up the hill barefoot, alone and peaceful, I knew this was where I wanted to be, where I wanted to live. But today, today there were no wolf howls, and the whistle was more like a scream, and I knew he was coming. I knew I wasn’t safe….I kept going. That was the biggest mistake I ever made. I died that day because the wolves had followed me. He killed us all. Nobody ever cared…. My peaceful place, was my death place. Felicity Year 8

Our last competition of the year! The Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award is the biggest award for writers aged 11-17.  It welcomes poems on any theme and any length.
