‘Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house, Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse. But in the silence, Stomps are heard, They stroll around, Without a word. You hide under covers, the steps coming nearer, but when it walks in your room, It couldn’t be clearer. It was the Christmas llama! He strolled to your bed. He gave you a bucket, That rested on his head. You looked in the bucket, It was filled with llama milk! You gave the llama a hug, The llamas fur was like silk. New competition

Our last competition of the year! The Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award is the biggest award for writers aged 11-17.  It welcomes poems on any theme and any length. It is completely FREE to enter for anyone aged 11-17 in the WORLD . Since it began, the Award has kick-started the career of some of today’s most exciting new voices. Winners receive a fantastic range of prizes , from mentoring to a residential Arvon writing course, Poetry Society membership to books. The Hunter's Footsteps

It was icy cold, and I was wearing no shoes.  Each footstep fading behind me, I had no idea where I was going or if I would get back.  The whistling of the wind entwined with the howl of wolves had always soothed me. As I hiked up the hill barefoot, alone and peaceful, I knew this was where I wanted to be, where I wanted to live. But today, today there were no wolf howls, and the whistle was more like a scream, and I knew he was coming. I knew I wasn’t safe….I kept going. That was the biggest mistake I ever made. I died that day because the wolves had followed me. He killed us all. Nobody ever cared…. My peaceful place, was my death place. Felicity Year 8
