Peace

One night William was watching TV. He was about to head up to bed because he was tired, so he went upstairs to bed to sleep. Suddenly came a noise from the neighbours; they were having a party! They weren't giving peace for William, so William said to them,
"Please can you keep the noise down as I’m trying to sleep?"
But they said,
"No!", so William went back to bed. Then came a loud knock from the door the neighbours. They said they would be nice and peaceful 

Without peace we wouldn’t get the things we get now. We would have wars and fights, so please keep the world peaceful and remember to be peaceful for neighbours.

Llanrug Day Two & Day Three

We've had a brilliant couple of days here in Llanrug so far using Snowdonia as our playground. We have split into activity groups and tried a different activity each day. At the moment coasteering and gorge/waterfall scrambling are firm favourites, with body boarding a close runner up. As much as we hate the thought of donning wet wetsuits tomorrow, (there's no chance they will fully dry out overnight!) it's always worth it for the adventures we have - especially with the sun shining. The food is really good, even if we do have to set the tables, clear plates, serve one another, wash up, sweep and clean for every meal. Got to go now - the football has just started. I'll just leave you with an anecdote from Group One today: Mr. Taylor tried his hand at abseiling and, to the amusement of all the students, managed to abseil himself right into a hole in the rock face! Luckily the students were on hand to point out the hole...after he ended up in it. Fun times!

Llanrug Day One

It's Day One and we've all arrived safely. Lots of students were really excited to check out the 'pool room' at the centre. After the initial disappointment wore off upon discovering that this was a reference to a pool table, and not the imagined swimming pool, we all settled into our rooms. Dinner was eaten and chores were done - oh yes, chores! Some training in this area is still needed, but we have all week to practise cleaning skills. We then went orienteering around a big lake and everyone is now settling in for the night. Night! P.S. E veryone says, "Hi Mum - having fun!"

Our last competition of the year! The Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award is the biggest award for writers aged 11-17.  It welcomes poems on any theme and any length. It is completely FREE to enter for anyone aged 11-17 in the WORLD . Since it began, the Award has kick-started the career of some of today’s most exciting new voices.
